At Deanna's Family Researching and Linking Families, we provide family research for those that believe they may be part of the stolen generation and try and find their families to reunite them and link their family together again.
We've also recently starting making identity cards for indigenous people that identify their clan groups and immediate family members as a way of identifying themselves to other indigenous people and a way to be proud of their heritage, their clan and familial groups.
Deanna Roberts
Deanna's parents, Claire Henty-Gebert & Ron Roberts, were part of the stolen generation.
Deanna Roberts has had a long abiding interest in family history, research and linking families, and has assisted many people to research their family history in the past.
Deanna’s parents were stolen generation children, from the Alice Springs & Tennant Creek region. Both ended up at Croker Island mission where in time they married. Her parent’s story has inspired Deanna to work with linking families from all walks of life.
Deanna has developed extensive experience in family researching through her work with SA Link-Up, and her own personal interest in indigenous family research. She recognises that many people make a start on researching their family history by themselves but come across difficulties in moving forward and just stop.
